On March 19th at the American University in Blagoevgrad we celebrated the achievements of this year’s winners and their teachers. All participants had the opportunity to visit the university campus and afterwards took part in a workshop facilitated by Dannie Chalk – an English Literature professor at AUBG. The official ceremony began with the entertaining performances by the Broadway Performance Club and the students from St. Kliment Ohridski High School. All students and their teachers received prizes provided by Klett, Macmillan and Express Publishing. The American University in Blagoevgrad awarded Bogomila Veleva with a three-week summer camp and Maria Luizova with an intensive TOEFL course. Maria Tsakova received the special prize in the name of the American writer Cynthia Phoel who was a former Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria. The CORPluS Foundation awarded Nikola Tsonchev and Yoan Dimov with a one-week creative writing course for the exceptionally creative way that they interpreted the given topics. The award ceremony marked the closing of this year’s campaign. We want to thank all our partners for their generous contributions towards our project: TELUS International Europe, American Univeristy in Bulgaria, US Embassy in Sofia, AVO-Bell and Integral.
